BOTTA (Carlo). Storia delle guerra della independeza degli Stati Uniti di America. Milano, Nicolo Bettoni, 1820,  3 vols. 8 vo., 20.5 x 13 cm. 2 large fold-out maps, contemporary vellum, red morocco spine label; internally some occasional toning or browning.

When  John Adams asked in 1815 "Who will write the history of the American Revolution?", one of the unlikely candidates was an Italian historian, whose  History of the American Revolutionary War is one of the first accurate historical works on this issue.
